Hello!

My name is Chandni Sehgal. I’m a freelance journalist based in Mumbai and I write on travel, beauty and wellness, design, culture and more. I have been a journalist for 13 years and I specialise in profiles, social commentary and health and wellness stories (and offering unsolicited advice).

I have worked with Elle Décor India (sub editor) and Vogue India (senior copy editor) and Tweak India (copy chief) in full-time roles. As a freelance writer, and journalist, I have written for publications like Tweak India, Architectural Digest India, Beautiful Homes India, Vogue India, Fluent Health and more.

With lifestyle Journalism as my base, I have extensive experience in copy editing, writing, social media marketing and interview-based profiles. Some of my notable interviewees include Mary Kom (athlete), Neera Nundy (founder, Dasra.org), Firuza Parikh (IVF specialist), Josh Radnor (American actor), Urvashi Kaur, Suhani Pittie (Indian fashion and jewellery designers) and a number of Indian celebrities, including Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Shah Rukh Khan, Kriti Sanon and Katrina Kaif. I’ve worked with brands like Louis Vuitton, Dyson, Good Earth, Forest Essentials, Everbrite Jewellery, and more on editorial/ advertorial content.

I’ve also co-authored two books: When I Grow Up I Want To Be (2020) - a book for kids about real-life local heroes from India and the sequel, When I Grow Up I Want To Be - 2 (2021).

I am open to creative projects across platforms, ghost writing books, co-authoring and editing. Things I like include books, food and dogs. Things I dislike include introducing myself – verbally, and in writing, so that’s it for now.

Hope you enjoy reading this selection of my work!
